I have ridden down too many times locked out - and I hate climbing so - set it and leave it is my way to go. If you do not change or fiddle with travel length or lock out while riding the talas is overkill, the float is lighter.
#GT IDRIVE 4.0 UPGRADE#
I thought it was my lack of riding skills, then Dean said something about that bike trying to buck him off the front, and that was exactly what I felt - the fork MADE all the difference until I could afford to upgrade my frame.

I'd like to breathe some life back into it and get back into the saddle. I put quite a few miles on it back in the day and then RL took over and I had to put it in storage. That said, I changed out my manitou POS for a Fox Float of the same travel WHAT a difference! GT iDrive 4.0 Refresh : MTB 5 Posted by 5 years ago GT iDrive 4.0 Refresh Hey folks, My MTB is a little old (understatement) and needs a refresh. You can stress the frame and create a hazardous situation. I used to ride an i-Drive GT 5 3.0 (the 1,2,3 'point.0' etc is component level not travel, you didn't mention that.) for most manufacturers, do NOT exceed the travel that your bike was sold with or designed for. I bought it used for 140, upgraded pretty much everything but the r. I was waiting for people with more experience and knowledge to answer here.but here goes my 2cents. Ive had this 2007 GT iDrive 4 4.0 for 2 years.
